The ‘CONFUSION OF EXISTENCE’ EP by MORTON BLACK, the melodic metal project masterminded by the multi-talented youngster JOEY FERWERDA (19) from Hoorn, Netherlands, will be released through DEITY DOWN RECORDS on October 5th (world), November 2nd (UK/Eire). Its release party will be held at MANIFESTO in Hoorn, Netherlands on September 27th.
Along with the previously announced appearances by English guitar hero PAUL CLARK (DAVID CROSS BAND, CURSE OF THE 9TH, PAUL CLARK BAND) and MADICKEN DE VRIES (ex-ANNATAR), MORTON BLACK now also features vocalists KOEN ROMEIJN (DETONATION, CARDAMON, ENGORGE) and hard rock veteran STAN VERBRAAK (HIGHWAY CHILE, ex-HELLOISE).

Finaly its all over now!, or it just is getting started!
Sunday 27 September 2009 in Manifesto in Hoorn, the album: Confusion Of Existence is going to be released!
This will be a very special show, since it is the first appearance of Morton Black on stage, and there will be a lot of session musicians from the album and such!
Supported by: Dark Intentions, Murder Therapy (Ita) and as after show In Tension, we will rock the place down!
NOTE: The venue opens at 15:00 and closes at 21:00, so it is not a evening event.
Because dinner time is in the middle of the event, there will be a Snack Car standing in front of the venue!
Order fast, this is a special gig and the venue only holds around 350 people, so sold out is sold out.

World Is Closing In, my first release for Morton Black ever!
It contains a combination between different metal genre's that I really like in the atmosphere.
It features Marcel Oerlemans from Ceremony Of Opposites who's low grunts and high screams blows you away!

25-04-2009: New live drummer and Endorsement
Everything is going well with the recording of the new EP, and a new era calls for a new adition for the band.
I am happy to announce that: Martin Verberk is the new live drummer for Morton Black.
He is very well known for his work with the band Lafordova in the early days and now for his recording and mixing skills (Stream Of Passion, Sphere Of Souls, Sun Caged).
Welcome to the experience Martin!

I am very happy to announce that today we made official that Morton Black has signed with Deity Down Records and going to release the first debut EP!
This is going to be the first release ever, and i am very thrilled about it!
This label is known for its work with bands like: Thanatos, Devious, Vermin, Dark Intentions, Persistence, Anmod and a lot more!

'CONFUSION OF EXISTENCE', the debut EP by MORTON BLACK, a project by 19 year-old multi-talent JOEY FERWERDA from Hoorn, Netherlands, will be released by DEITY DOWN RECORDS around June of 2009.
MORTON BLACK is a project dedicated to creating and recording melodic metal based on the paths that were set by acts such as AYREON and AVANTASIA. The project is studio bound primarily, but will also make live appearances.

From today on, Morton Black is signed a endorsement deal for Amedia Cymbals and Balbex Drumsticks!
This is powered by Pat Sticks who is known for signing endorsements for the leading drummer scene in Holland and Belgium.
You will hear the rocking sounds of the cymbals and rumbling of the sticks on every recording from now onm and of course live!

22-03-2009: Video of Drum recordings!
Yeah! Morton Black is releasing something again, this time a video of drum recordings with Jim Van De Kerkhof (Morning, Uplifted (RIP), Ex-Blind Trash).
I have worked with Jim in the past and his style really matched the music we recorded.
We recorded everything in my (nearly done) studio called: MortalSound Studio, located in Hoorn (The Netherlands) and really is sounding awesome.
Also keep track of the news on the website and myspace cause something big is starting to happen, i have been very busy behind the scenes ;)
06-08-2008: TK Custom Endorsement
Morton Black has just made a deal with Tim Koole of TK Custom, he is going to make a 7 String custom guitar for Morton Black based on his first base model.
A website is in the make of TK Custom and will be posted together with more information when done.
16-07-2008: Future of Morton Black!
Morton Black is currently busy with some studio songs for releasing together with the older tracks of: The Black Sessions, this will be released this year under a record company and will be followed by a tour.
Also there are currently some studio previews in the making that will be released soon.

29-02-2008: Big Announcement, Morton Black not to play at Metallic Damnation.
Due to illness of the synth player and some differences in the band Morton Black will not play tonight at the Metallic Damnation fest in De Kade, Zaandam.
I will make a longer statement later on.
21-02-2008: Line up change/addition and info.
On the gig 29Feb08 Ivo Van Dijk (right) (Xystus, Equilibrio )will do our drums cause of the illness of our drummer Jim van de Kerkhof.
He will also be on the backup list of the Live band so you might see him more then once.
Gert Eefting also will not be available on the gig making myself the backup bass player and Ivo will play the songs on bass i drum.
Also, From 1 march Madicken De Vries (left) (ex-Annatar, Shallow Faith) will replace our current singer Nadja Rus in the Live band due to personal reasons.
We wish her the best in the future and will make the gig 29feb very special!
And for the people that will be at the gig, Morton Black will release a mini-cd with 3/4 tracks including a preview of the upcoming Demo-DVD "The Black Sessions" and some studio songs, with a limited supply of 50 pieces!
The price is 3 euro's each or 2 when you buy it together with a shirt!

On 29 February 2008 we will play a try out gig in "De Kade" in Zaandam, NL
